Joint Injections

Frequently Asked Questions

Are regenerative joint injections FDA approved?

Many therapies used in regenerative medicine involve compounds or techniques that are used off-label or considered investigational, which is common in emerging fields of medicine.

Are these therapies the same as stem cell therapy?

Not necessarily. Many biologic allograft products contain extracellular matrix proteins and signaling molecules rather than living stem cells.

How many injections will I need?

Some patients respond after a single injection, while others require a series of treatments spaced over several weeks.

Can these injections replace surgery?

For some patients they may delay or reduce the need for surgery, but outcomes vary.

NOT Therapy

Q. Is ozone safe?

Medical ozone therapy has been used for decades in Europe and other countries. When administered properly it is considered safe.

Q. How quickly does ozone work?

Some patients notice changes within minutes due to neuromodulation effects, while others improve gradually.

Q. How many injections are needed?

Frequency is customized depending on response.

Q: Does Neural Ozone Therapy cure pain or inflammation?
A: No therapy guarantees a cure. Studies suggest subcutaneous ozone may support pain reduction, inflammation modulation, and tissue signaling in some patients, but responses vary. (ScienceDirect)

Q: Is the procedure painful?
A: Most patients experience mild local discomfort/burning feeling during injection.  These injections are directly under the skin using gentle technique to help minimize any pain.

HOT Therapy

Q: Can Harper Ozone Therapy  help with my arthritis?

A: HOT Therapy may support joint comfort and function in arthritis by combining ozone with amino acids, peptides, B12, and botanicals. Studies of intra-articular ozone show potential reductions in pain and improvements in mobility for osteoarthritis patients, while compounds like glucosamine, MSM, curcumin, and Boswellia have been studied for anti-inflammatory and cartilage-supportive effects. Individual responses vary, and HOT Therapy is intended as a supportive, integrative approach rather than a cure. (PLOS ONE, 2017; Raeissadat et al., 2018; Phytotherapy Research, 2017; Journal of Medicinal Food, 2019)

Q: Will HOT Injections immediately improve joint function?
A: Some patients notice changes within days, while others may require multiple treatments to observe functional improvements.  The more medical conditions you have the more treatments you may require as the body is compromised in more than one physiologic modality.

Q: Is the procedure painful?
A: Most patients feel mild local discomfort. Use of local anesthetic and gentle technique minimizes pain.

Is HOT Therapy similar to prolotherapy?

It is conceptually related but differs in formulation. Prolotherapy uses irritants to stimulate inflammation, whereas HOT therapy focuses on supportive regenerative nutrients.

How long do results last?

Many patients experience relief lasting weeks to months, depending on the severity of joint degeneration.
