My Story

Kimberly Handy, FNP-C, began her journey into integrative medicine after more than 20 years of experience working across multiple areas of nursing. Her passion for functional and root-cause medicine was born from a deeply personal experience involving her daughter’s health challenges. After witnessing her daughter struggle within the conventional healthcare system and receiving limited answers despite consultations with several specialists, Kimberly became determined to seek deeper understanding and solutions. Through her own research and persistence, she ultimately helped uncover the correct diagnosis after previous evaluations had failed to do so. This experience ignited her commitment to helping others identify the underlying causes of illness and become active partners in their healthcare journey.

Kimberly earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2015 and began practicing integrative medicine in 2016. Since then, she has pursued extensive advanced training in functional and integrative medicine through leading organizations and educational programs, including the Institute for Functional Medicine, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, Apex Energetics Mastering Thyroid and Endocrine Disorders, Great Plains Laboratory Organic Acid Testing, Allison Siebecker’s SIBO Pro Course, and Kurt Woeller’s SIBO Mastery Course. She has also completed specialized training in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) through Women’s Hormone Network and A4M. Kimberly remains committed to lifelong learning and values both intellectual curiosity and professional humility in patient care.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Kimberly provides care for both pediatric and adult patients. Her extensive nursing background includes pediatric medical-surgical care, pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, family medicine, and pediatric emergency care. She offers integrative primary and acute care services for patients ranging from one year of age through adulthood, tailoring treatment plans to each individual’s unique health needs and goals.

Treatment specialties include hormone health for adolescents, perimenopausal and menopausal women, including Physiologic Restoration Hormone Replacement Therapy (PRT) and male hormone replacement therapy. Additional areas of focus include the management of autoimmune and chronic inflammatory conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, Long COVID, cardiovascular disease, elevated cholesterol, inflammatory bowel disease, and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and more! Care is tailored to identify and address the underlying causes of illness through a comprehensive integrative and functional medicine approach.

Kimberly is passionate about empowering patients through compassionate, personalized care that seeks to restore wellness by addressing the root causes of disease rather than simply managing symptoms.
